YSHIA'S BUTTER AND GARLIC SHRIMPS | Photo by Yasmin Pascual-Dormido

That Yasmin Pascual-Dormido knows how to hunt for news and to report is known to everyone.

This TV personality of ABS-CBN-Bacolod is one of those broadcast journalists who has grey matter between her ears.  She’s not like one of those Imperial Manila prima donnas who beat up their househelp, fail to pay the mortgage on the Mercedes and marry a politician.

Sorry, I lost myself there because I am supposed to tell you that Yasmin also knows how to cook.

This was cooked at the request of her daughter, Yshia.  We might as well call it Yshia’s butter and garlic shrimps.  Here it is from our guest writer.

Half a kilo of shrimps
One-fourth cup of butter
Black pepper
Granulized seasoning
1 tbsp black vinegar
Red bell pepper diced
2 cloves garlic chopped

In a pan, sauté chopped garlic in butter until golden brown. Set aside half of the sautéed garlic.

Put shrimps in pan and cook for 5 minutes or until shrimps turn red.

Add the red bell pepper and the black vinegar. Put pepper and seasoning.

Simmer for another five minutes or until the shrimps have absorbed the juice.

Get from pan and drizzle the remaining garlic on top of shrimps before serving.

Serves 4 to 5 persons.

Thank you to Yasmin for sharing the recipe.

Manamit nga pag-kaon!

  2. Thanks very much Julius and Hannah! Your blog motivates me to experiment more in the kitchen. Now, I know what to do the next time I whip up something with my ladle. Will take a photo, write down the recipe and email them to you. Have lots of recipes to share. Again, thanks!
